‘World Vision from the Perspective of Hong Kong‘ is a response exhibition showing alongside the main pieces below. Photography undergraduates from the Design Institute are showcasing their own local take on the issues raised in the annual photojournalism awards. Mickey Kong‘s three photographs mirror the work of 2nd Prize Arts and Entertainment Singles winner, Vincent Boisot, who captured a fashion model at a tailors in Senegal.
“Arresting and compelling images from the World Press Photo, the world’s most prestigious annual press photography contest founded in 1955. On display will be over 160 award-winning images from nine contest categories. This year’s competition attracted 5,247 photographers from 124 countries. In total 101,254 images were entered in the contest. These photos take us through the pivotal moments in the past year and lead us to contemplate upon the various humanity issues we face today.”
