MUSIC – City Lines: 9 Maps, Cleen and Louise Joachimowski Live

Head to the Fringe Club tomorrow (Friday) night,  for an evening of great female vocalists and electroacoustic experimentation! Three Hong Kong acts “will draw our city’s contours in notes, lyrics and glitches, yarning on the poetry of hidden corners and sudden encounters.” Tickets are HK$100 in advance from [email protected] or HK$130 at the door.

Blog favourites 9 Maps are headlining with rumours they may be debuting new material from their next album.

9 Maps are Sherin (vox, keys & guitar), Ciosa (vox, guitar, & ukelele), and the indie folk alchemy that they’ve crafted. Often referred to as Hong Kong’s “Harbour Folk” scene, they’ve been likened to the Western indie-folk generation including Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons and Feist. Their songs have seen Tom Lee and ‘Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong’ awards for song writing, a feature on Music Services Asia’s ‘Best of South East Asian Indie’ compilation CD, and a spot at the Music Matters 2012 conference in Singapore.
