ART – Exhibition: ‘Rodentia in Absentia’ by Adrian Wong

‘Rodentia in Absentia’ by Adrian Wong is currently exhibiting in Central…

Collaborating with a number of domesticated animals to complete his work, Wong engages in an archaeology of the Cantonese street by appropriating aesthetic elements from tile walls, vinyl flooring, window bars, decorative screens, and other design objects indoors and out, traditional and contemporary.”…

Wong’s solo exhibition continues until November 29th. 11am-7pm, Tuesday through Friday at Saamlung 26/f, Two Chinachem Plaza, 135-137 Des Voeux Rd. C.

Originally trained in research psychology, Adrian Wong began making and exhibiting work in San Francisco while concurrently conducting experiments on young children. In a practice that draws together collective superstition and the improbably incidental aesthetics of the overlooked, Wong fabricates panpsychic narratives that terrify and excite. He has been based in Hong Kong since 2005, where he is a founder of the independent production studio Embassy Projects, and currently teaches sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University.
