Alex Ogle moved to Hong Kong from Washington DC two years ago. He is a photojournalist on AFP’s photodesk, mostly working as an editor…
However, he occasionally gets to take shots around the city for work and hopes to one day become a full-time photographer.
Most of the shots featured today were taken on his iPhone and posted to Instagram. He says that, aside from the device, it is the best photojournalism tool available. “It’s a great platform to share images that tell stories and can reach a lot of people quickly.”
“I’ve found it great fun to cover a place like Hong Kong, show the people who live here, and show it’s a place not just full of skyscrapers and massive apartment blocks, but with a great outdoors of mountains and beaches and country parks to explore”, says Ogle.
Follow Alex’s work on Instagram, Flickr or Twitter and stay tuned for Part 2.
