Justin Bieber’s Hong Kong show cancelled, as star scraps world tour

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has cancelled his Purpose World Tour without explanation.

“Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months,” a statement from his tour representative said on Monday.

Beiber had been set to perform in Hong Kong this September 27, in addition to 13 other remaining dates across Asia and North America.

“He is grateful and honoured to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates,” the statement said.

A source told TMZ that the 23-year-old heart throb was “just over it.”

His 150-show tour had grossed US$93.2 million (HK$727.57 million). Refund arrangements for Hong Kong ticket holders are, as yet, unclear.

The move comes days after he was banned from entering China due to “misconduct that caused public dissatisfaction.”
