Clockenflap Festival 2017: The Prodigy, Young Fathers, Temples, Jungle & Bootleg Beatles just announced

Legendary UK live act The Prodigy, neo-soul heroes Jungle, psychedelic rockers Temples, dubstep pioneer Skream and record-breaking Fab Four tribute act The Bootleg Beatles, have been announced for Clockenflap 2017.

Also added to this year’s lineup are Mercury Prize-winning Scottish alternative hip-hop collective Young Fathers, Australian psychedelic rock maestros Pond, British punk duo Slaves, and J-Pop giants 水曜日のカンパネラ Wednesday Campanella.

Chemical Brothers, Yo La Tengo and Die Antwoord confirmed for Clockenflap Festival 2016

British dance duo The Chemical Brothers and South African rap group Die Antwoord have been confirmed for Clockenflap Festival 2016.

Also announced is British singer Devonté “Dev” Hynes also known as Blood Orange, American indie rock band Yo La Tengo and South Korean indie act Hyukoh.

The ninth Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival will move from the West Kowloon Cultural District to the Central Harbourfront Event Space this November 25th, 26th and 27th.

Event: Jam with African beats featuring fusion percussion band Afritude

The fusion percussion band Afritude is holding a show on Saturday, September 10, featuring the beats and rhythms of Africa.

Afritude, based in Hong Kong, was formed in 2012 and consists of members who hail from all over the African continent.

The event will take place at Orange Peel, 2/F Ho Lee Commercial Building, 38-44 D’Aguilar St, Lan Kwan Fong, Central. Doors open at 7pm and the first show starts at 9pm.

Crossdressing pro-wrestling metal singer Ladybeard returns to HK

Ladybeard is an Australian, bearded, pro-wrestling heavy metal singer and ex-Hong Kong resident currently whipping up a storm in Japan.


Tickets are available in advance from HK$250 from undergroundhk.com. Shows will take place at 9pm this Saturday and 3pm on Sunday at Focal Fair, Park Avenue Tower.

Musical virtuosos, spectacular collaborations, and world-class Filipino artists come together in two weekends of the Malasimbo Festival next month on Mount Malasimbo in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

Headlining this year’s music instalment is the acclaimed UK musician Jacob Collier. Twenty-year-old Collier, who is set to launch his debut album this year, is hailed for his stunning ability to create “a digital one-man band using contemporary technology: multitrack recording, looping pedals, and a strange Vocoder-like program that enables him to sing audacious harmonies through a Novation keyboard,” says The Guardian of the UK.

The eighth Clockenflap event is set to take place at West Kowloon Cultural District between November 27 and 29. A$AP Rocky (US) and Leah Dou (HK) have been added to this year’s line up alongside The Libertines, Damien Rice, Flying Lotus, Earth, Wind & Fire Experience Ft. Al McKay, Blackalicious and Mr Scruff.

Video: Jon Bon Jovi sings love song in Mandarin on Chinese Valentine’s Day

Mulleted American crooner Jon Bon Jovi has delivered a rousing rendition of “The Moon Represents My Heart,” a love ballad popularised by Taiwanese pop star Teresa Teng.

The clip was released on Qixi – Chinese Valentine’s Day – on video site Tudou.

Bon Jovi are embarking on an Asian tour and are set to perform in Macao on September 25th and 26th. Tickets start at HK$580.
